Open Automation Services - Case Study
A system integrator in France was looking for an industrial network that can simultaneously handle real time process information and data from a video camera. The major problem for the customer was lack of time to evaluate and choose the right technology.
Kalycito's role
Kalycito provided premium services to this customer by integrating Powerlink in their environment and also providing various timing analysis to capture the performance of the network. The customer was happy that Kalycito was able to deliver on their expectations. In our customer's words - "We called you to help us start faster with openPOWERLINK. This goal has been completely achieved". Further the customer allowed some portion of the work to be made open source.
Product Development Services Problem statement: A system integrator in the Metrology domain wanted to develop an advanced standalone weighing unit with the following features without compromising the metrological quality: • Management and trouble-shooting of the unit from a remote location via the internet • Facility to connect printers, and submit reports to a remote server thereby eliminating the need for a PC Kalycito's Solution: • Conceptualization • Kalycito proposed that the new system would have Linux as its back bone as it is expected to connect to the internet, connect to range of USB peripherals, SD cards etc. • Realization • Hardware design including signal conditioning for the measurement section, prototyping, software design, casing, front panel design and fabrication. • Production • Produce in low volume and supply the units. • Support • Provide after sales support for the initial units and train the customer. Embedded Software Development Services A European telecommunications major was looking for the following support from an offshore partner in India • Embedded middleware development in Linux • Product Integration and Validation Activities including co-ordinating with the customer's vendors • Development of Test automation tools Kalycito's Solution: Kalycito deployed a dedicated team of engineers for this customer with the required skill sets and provided project management support. The facility has physical and logical partitioning to ensure IP confidentiality. The relationship is now 4 years old and some of the test automation systems are being used by the customer since 2008 and has been enhanced with more features since then. |
